Muringayila Thoran/Drumstick Leaves Stirfry

Last year I was added to a Whats App group which was called as 'Haritha Bavan.' A group that consisted of a group of ladies who loved gardening.Actually I had attended a program on the topic about health issues eating fast food ,eating veggies and fruits that were sprayed with all those health hazard chemicals etc...And it was as a part of that program that I was added to this group.

Kiwi Lemonade

While browsing through my posts I saw that I haven't posted any recipes with Kiwi fruit, that is,any juices with this;because this is one fruit with some others that we buy when ever available in the markets. But recently we have given it a break, because once when brought it was a little raw and my children started complaining one's tongue was itching and the other ones lips were itching etc..and I and my Hubby had to finish the rest.

Erissery

In India my hubby's family has started a monthly 'Family get together'.Only siblings and very close uncles and aunts. It was a good initiative so that every one could meet up each month ,talk, eat together and the children really enjoyed playing, showing their talents like singing, acts etc..The time when every one talked face to face, played games without any gadgets, it was totally fun.As such in today's world no one has time for others and specially the children have no connection with their cousins and so on ...

Carrot and Papaya Smoothie

I have already mentioned how I love juicing my fruits. Here the afternoons are still very hot.Yesterday my Hubby came home in the afternoon after a meeting and asked if there was something to drink hinting for a juice or milkshake :) searching the refrigerator what I could find was only half of a Papaya. He loves Papaya like anything so I thought I will cut them and serve.

Liver Curry

The climate is slightly changing to winter, with some cool breeze in the morning and evening but the afternoons are very hot.My Dad sometimes tell us that he can't bear the Winter here (in Qatar) and the Summer in Kerala. He is planning to visit us shortly and my kids are eagerly waiting.

Muttapathal/Kuthappam - Malabar style PanCakes

When in Kerala some mornings Umma makes crepes/Dosa using APF or Wheat flour,it is when no men are at home. And for these I or my siblings and our little ones need no curry as a side, a little ghee spread on it along with a sprinkle of sugar and rolled will do.But sometimes from that simple crepes we prefer these Muttapathal which is cooked on a manchatty(clay pot).Actually we cannot say its a clay pot because it's more of a lid type or pan made of clay.

Pomegranate Milkshake

Milkshakes are always yummy and filling specially if you are not filled with your breakfast properly by 11 am you crave for something badly, and for me ,I start searching for my ingredients which I can fix quickly. So in such a search I found an Anar/Pomegranate which had a sour taste and was kept just like that from a few days.Quickly I prepared this shake and was thinking why didn't that idea strike me earlier,no problem everything has its own time.Better now than getting them rotten.

Sapota (Chikoo) Pola

Back home in Kerala we have a Chikoo /Sapota tree.It bears such sweet delicious chikoos and this time we were lucky enough to eat them.My brother plucks them and Umma keeps them for ripening.Eating or preparing Milkshakes while we finish one batch the other gets plucked and ripens. And this Pola has been prepared from those tasty ones.

Ariunda/Rice Balls

It's been two weeks after we are back from India but somehow still things have not come to the normal routine.First two days went by cleaning and then storing things brought from India.Ummi had prepared enough snacks for us to take here, but unfortunately we could not carry all due to the heavy luggage and also there was some uncertainty with our flight tickets and that's why could not carry any very fresh ones.

Bread Rings

Time for another Challenge in the MFB Challenges and this time the  theme was to prepare a bookmarked recipe from a Muslimah Blogger and re-create it.I never thought I could make this because I was till in the hangover after coming back from India.Kids had already missed their two week classes,we being late to return after vacation.

Pathal(Pathiri) Thenga Varuthathu/Sweet Coconut Pathiri

This is my favorite during my college days.I had to travel in two buses from my house to the college and the same while returning back. There were only very few buses that traveled directly, that too not on a fixed time.So in the evening I used to come home exhausted, real hungry.Tea would be ready by the time. And Ummi would make some snacks also ready. But sometimes when there's nothing to eat I search for the left over Pathiris (prepared in the morning which will be in the Casserole or in the fridge which was prepared the previous night for dinner)

Peach Lemonade

Summer means I like juicing my fruits than eating them. The heat is becoming unbearable, the temperature is getting too high and the humidity....specially for the working people.By chance if we have to go shopping or for some other purpose in the morning means we come back exhausted.

Chicken Gravy Sandwich

Today's recipe is sandwich with a curried chicken filling.During our school days there used to be a Chicken sandwich in our school canteen which had its filling in the form of curry.Waking up late to school means two riyals to school one riyal for sandwich or anything to eat and the other to buy anything for drinking.Mostly I would go for that cold Pepsi and any sandwich.

Pineapple Pachadi(Sweet)

One whole month of Ramadan is followed by the six days of Shawwal fasting and whoever completes those six days included is rewarded as if he has fasted  for the whole year.I have already posted on the six days fasting earlier that is about a saheeh hadeeth from the prophet (pbuh) saying “Whoever fasts Ramadaan and follows it with six days of Shawwaal, it will be as if he fasted for a lifetime.” (Narrated by Muslim)

Dates Muhalabiya

10th of the month means it's time for another MFB Challenge.Sometimes I feel my blog runs due to such Challenges, because at least  at the the last hour,I manage to do the post. Its not purposely because I am engaged in so many things.Like I have a physiotherapy on alternative days, then the other days I have joined the Quran Tajweed and Grammer classes, where we have to study our portions etc.Sometimes a 7th STD boy comes for tuitons and at the end of the day after my house chores I just need to find my bed...hehe.

Ozhicha Mutta Curry/Egg Drop Curry/Broken egg Curry

This is one curry which ummi used to make often for breakfast in India when in a hurry or when there is no vegetable sides. That is when she forgets to soak the chick peas or there is no Potatoes or Paneer to cook something easy. For breakfast always its a vegetable curry or varieties of egg curry because its Appam Poori Puttu...dishes in that line which is mostly accompanied with these sort of curries.

Persimmon MilkShake

Winter is the season for Persimmons (one of our favorite fruits)and we never miss the chance to get them.Do you know there are two varieties of Persimmon?Actually I came to know about these only recently.I used to eat these fruits when I was very young itself. Not able to pronouns the fruit name well me and my sisters used to call this as 'the tomato type fruit'.When young we used to get the 'Hachiya' type. Now also we get only this type from our nearby veg.shop.This variety can be eaten only when they are liquid ripe that is;when it is real soft and gooey inside(you can see the pulp on top of my milkshake).

Eethapazham Thenga Chammanthi/Dates Coconut Chammanthi/

I am part of the 'Muslim Food Bloggers' group on Facebook.A group with so many lovely ladies with the same Passion for cooking. To make the group more interesting ,a challenge has been put every month. The challenge started from last month but unfortunately I could not make it up last time, but thought somehow I should make it this time.If you all have read my last post you would know I am going through a low phase now a days. But somehow I didn't want to miss this again,so to be frank I didn't put much effort on this challenge.

Stuffed Idiyappam(String Hoppers)

This is my first post for this year 2017.Every one had their own ups and downs during the year 2016.And so did we.We have lost some of our dear ones last year.My Mother in law had passed away while we were in India, who was more to me like a mother than a Mother in law.Just after that her brother also left this world.
