<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Like Paneer dishes Mushrooms are also cooked once in a while.But unlike Paneer there is cleaning part included in Mushrooms which is a bit time consuming.This time my Hubby bought some canned Mushrooms and I prepared this Mushroom masala curry.Recently we had this Mushroom Masala from a Restaurant.So tried re creating the same at home.The gravy was licked completely by everyone,meaning all of them really enjoyed it to the core.

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">As I have mentioned it was canned mushrooms,there was not much of cleaning.I washed it well and then drained it putting it in a strainer for sometime.This gravy tastes best with Chapati,Naan even Ghee rice and Jeera rice.Now off to the recipe.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">The climate is slowly changing with the Ac's On and Off.Last year we had rain from the month of October itself but now it is half of November,but still not that much rain.Few days back it drizzled a little.Mornings are a little cold but again afternoons are very hot.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">And today's recipe is something I thought I will post before the climate changes completely into winter.It's a mixed juice with two lovely fruits.You don't have to add much water as the Watermelon is 90% water and together mixed with Pomegranate it gives a beautiful bright color to the cooler.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Off to the simple recipe:
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Today is the 10 th of November and time for our MFB challenge.But this time there's a difference because this would be the last MFB Challenge.A beautiful challenge which ran for almost 3 years.Anyways,today's theme was to select any one from all those themes done in this year,it could be the one you missed or you can repeat any.I chose the one from which I missed ..'Your Favorite Mom Food'
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">A few other themes I participated are :
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Shirini Kishmishi-Iranian Raisins Cookies
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">As such I enjoy all the food my umma cooks specially her Desserts and Biriyani.I remember when we were young how we loved eating Gulab jamuns.But it would be either from some bakeries or Dad's North Indian friends home parties.But then Umma started preparing and we used to finish it off so quickly.There used to be a beautifully designed glass jar and she used to store gulab jamuns in that and it would be on the dining table.I and my siblings have a sweet tooth from my dad and his relatives side,where they all loved kheers,sweets desserts and his sisters used to have an extra spoon of sugar in their tea and juices too.But we don't like our tea and coffee that sweet.My mother is someone who doesn't like sweets.She is not that interested in juices and rather prefer eating those fruits.She had to take sweets often forcefully when her sugar level goes down.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">You can double the ingredients for more quantity.Now over to the recipe:
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Usually whenever there is Crab in the market my Hubby used to buy, but now it's been sometime we cooked any Crab dishes.Mainly it was because nobody at home is that interested in this sea food like before.But 2-3 days back seeing these large Crabs my hubby purchased and told to make masala or just fry them,as side for chapatis.But I had a little grated coconut leftover which I wanted to finish ,so I prepared this varutharacha curry(curry made with roasted coconut).

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">It didn't make much a difference so was taken by the family as usual excluding my kids who are not very interested in chammanthis.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Today's recipe is an item served as a part of the Sadhya,an instant mixed flavored pickle(not exactly a pickle).The main ingredient is the ginger which helps digestion and the other ingredients tamarind,jaggary and green chillies which brings out the spicy tangy lip smacking flavours.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">You can prepare this either by first only sauteing the chopped ginger till crisp ,taking it out and then proceeding with the gravy and lastly adding back the ginger.But I have prepared it in one go and found it easier.Also you can add the jaggery directly to the gravy,but I always prefer straining it and then adding.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Here I prepare this often and is every body's favorite.You can check my instant Lemon pickle also.Off to the recipe:
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">I am usually a Coffee person.Though tea is made always for my family excluding my younger ones,whenever I am in a mood to fresh myself or making a morning/evening drink just for my self and I am in a mood to stretch myself and enjoy a warm drink I always go for coffee.I drink tea but rarely a milk tea and mostly it's Sulaimani (black tea).Now due to the high humidity nobody<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;"> wants a warm or hot drink,so I have changed my hot Coffee to a cold one,a milkshake and now my whole family loves it!
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Hello everybody!I am here after the Eid celebration.I wanted to post this pudding during Eid but couldn't because this time eid was declared very late so got busy with the sudden eid preparations.Everything was done in a hurry-burry from cleaning,ironing to the morning preparations.But Alhamdulillah everything went fine,and we reached on time for the Eid prayers :).Also enjoyed two bus trips with family and friends the after days..
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Today's recipe as mentioned is a delicious melt in mouth <span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">pudding <span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">with those slight nutty bites.A simple agar agar milk pudding with cashew nuts.Whenever we crave for an agar agar pudding ,this is the one we often make and add a praline topping.So here goes the recipe:
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Ingredients
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Milk 4 cups
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Sugar 3-4 tbsp or as per taste
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Water 1/2 Cup
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Cashew nuts 50-60 g
<span style="color: red; font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">For The Praline Topping
<span style="font-family: times, "times new roman", serif; font-size: large;">-To prepare the praline: Heat a pan
and add sugar. Let the sugar melt and start to boil. Reduce the heat and when the sugar turns golden in color. Switch off the flame, add the Cashew nuts and mix
well and pour the whole mixture on a greased counter top or aluminium foil. Once it is completely cooled, break them to pieces or crush them in a blender.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Already the first ten days of Ramadan are over.And as usual the next ten and the last ten would also just fly off.Utilize the best of time for Ibaadah when you are in good health.Circumstances may not be the same always because sometimes I feel I did my Ibaadah better last year compared to how I feel this year.This year I feel I am in a complete packed shedule because in between I have my Physiotherapy sessions and due to the medication I doze off suddenly every now and then.Otherwise I could spent late nights and early mornings completing my recitation.But then everything is His will.And as believers there is reward on being patient.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Ramadan Kareem to all my readers.Today's recipe is part of the MFB Challenge.This time the theme was simple and Ramadan special Soups.During Ramadan the food consumed is less so what ever we take in at Iftar or Suhoor time is better to make it a healthy and light one for our tummies.Warm drinks are preferred by many like the Semolina drink or the Nombu Kanji or even Paalooda though the kids love snacks.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Soups are light and filling.Among soups I think this Sweet corn Chicken Soup is a favorite of many at least for me and my kids.I used to like soups when I was very small itself but my kids have started their love for soups just recently.Off to this simple recipe.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">If you are my regular reader you know about a group I mentioned earlier that I had joined regarding gardening.I was a totally a lazy one in gardening or it would be rather nice to say I didn't know the abc..of it.But attending this class which was just a coincidence- an invitation from another group - has made me a beginner.Last year I had posted my little garden on FB and this time also I grew a few veggies in my little space.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">So today's recipe is from one such veggie from my garden,it's the yellow cucumber well known as Vellarika in our part.I already have a post on my blog.If you are in doubt how this vegetable looks like and for the previous recipe post then you can check it here.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">This is a simple stir fry.On to the recipe:
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Ingredients
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Vellarika/yellow cucumber 1 medium size
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Salt as needed
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Coconut grated 1/4 cup
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Oil 2 tsp
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Curry leaves a few
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Method
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Peel the skin and remove the seeds with the help of a spoon.Chop into pieces(I got 2 cups after chopping)
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Heat a pan and add oil.Splutter the Mustard seeds and and the curry leaves.Add the onion.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-After a minute add the chopped pieces along with the red chilly powder,turmeric powder and salt.<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">You can add 2-3 spoons of water.<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Cook till soft.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-When cooked well add the grated coconut and mix well.Switch off the flame after 2 minutes.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">*<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">You can also use a pressure cooker to cook this.Keep for 2 or 3 whistles.After the pressure is released you can add the coconut.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Hello Friends,First of all sorry for the delay in posting recipes this year.Actually I had some health issues,which I am feeling better now,Alhamdulillah, but still I am on medicines and physiotherapy.I had to take complete rest and so was not active on any social media.Today feeling better I thought I will post something from my drafts,that is I had the images ready long back,so only I had to do the posting.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">I had a starting trouble doing the post may be not being active on this for long.I didn't know what to start with and thought I will just put the image and recipe but then somehow I started with what came in my mind..I don't know why am I going bla bla bla...hehe..Anyways on to today's recipe.'Kiska' the name may sound little funny because those who know Hindi knows well it means 'Whose' in Hindi language.But then there are many such names which sometimes sounds very funny,weird and sometimes very apt for some dishes mainly in the Malabar area.

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Today's dish is similar to a porridge where Wheat is cooked in Coconut milk.This is mostly served as one of the breakfast dishes in the Kannur part post wedding.This is an easy recipe with very less ingredients,only extracting coconut milk and the cooking process is time consuming.But now we get coconut powders and Coconut milk easily in the supermarkets.But I would prefer using the fresh Coconut milk for this recipe.Also you can use a pressure cooker to cook the wheat.Traditionally chopped Onion is also added while cooking.I have not added but you can add or omit.This can be eaten just as it is or with any side dish(curry types) or those of you have a sweet tooth can drizzle some Sugar,Honey or Dates syrup.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Ingredients
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Wheat 1 heaped cup
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Water <span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">or 3rd extract of coconut milk<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;"> 3-4 cups
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Thick coconut milk 1<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: medium;">1/4<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;"> cup
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">2nd extract of coconut milk 2 cups
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Salt as per taste
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Onion chopped 1/2 of 1 (optional)
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Method
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Wash and soak the wheat for at least one hour.Drain water and keep aside.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Boil water in a deep vessel and add the washed wheat along with salt, or you can Pressure cook it till the grains are cooked well.(You can add the chopped onion also at this time)
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Once cooked add the second extract of the coconut milk.Stir well.Let it boil.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Today is the 10th of February and yes time for our MFB Challenge.Actually my last post was also for this Challenge,then I had gone to India and was back only 3 weeks back,and the hangover has not yet left but I didn't want to miss this easy Challenge.This time it was to prepare something with Rumaan yes Pomegranate,which is a fruit mentioned in the Quran.Other than the peeling part,which now a days has many easy steps,this fruit is a jewel with its lovely bright colour and it's health benefits. Not going into so much of chat now straight to the recipe which is so easy to put in together with an easy dressing and just serve.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">You can add in some other fruits or veggies to make it more colorful.I already have some recipes with Pomegranate like the Pomegranate Milkshake,Pomegranate juice,and Salads like this, this and this one.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Pomegranate kernels 1 cup
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Again another 10th of the month and yes time for our MFB Challenge.This time it's to prepare an Iranian dish.While browsing through their cuisine I found so many rice varieties and Kebabs.And I planned to do Kebab.But suddenly we made a plan to go to India for two weeks as the children have a two weeks break for Winter.As we didn't go to India for the Summer vacation we that time itself had in mind we'll go during winter vacation,but fixing the date took time...

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">So keeping this in mind we don't buy groceries in bulk,other than what is needed on daily basis.So I thought I will prepare something with whatever I have or what is left in the pantry to finish off.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">These Persian cookies are one of the famous cookies in Iran.The recipe is so simple with very little ingredients.It tasted more of a dense cake filled with Raisins on every single bite.I added with whatever raisins was left with me.After I baked the first batch I found no raisins projected on top,so for the second batch after I scooped out the batter on the tray I added some raisins on top(may be it was because I used very little of them).So you will find two different looking cookies in my image.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Today's recipe is something I wanted to post before the
weather<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;"> <span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">completely changes to winter.Actually<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;"> I <span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">wanted to post this during Ramadan.Though I
made this many times during Ramadan didn’t try taking a pic of the same during
that month.

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">This is best served during summer,as the yogurt gives that cool effect on our body.In the Middle Eastern parts during Ramadan yogurt is a must for many at the Iftar time.

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">I had this 1st at a friend's house,who is one among our Tajweed class group.She stays near my Co Sister's house.So every time we meet she invites me to her house.On one such visit to my co sister's house we (me and other two relatives who are also her mates) visited her.Seeing us she wanted to prepare something to treat us but I told her we would be leaving within 5 minutes and just stopped for her invitation.But she was like she wouldn't let us go without having anything.She said she would prepare something very quickly and was taking out bread and yogurt.May be seeing our face as to what she would do quickly with bread and yogurt ,she said it would get ready in just 5 minutes and there was no cooking;and so we waited.And she quickly put in all the ingredients and then did a tadka and prepared this.From far it looked like a pudding slice garnished with something green but then it was this Bread Dahi Vada which tasted yummy.May be this would please those who like that mixed taste.Sweet and spicy along with a little sourness.Already I am a fan of this Dahi Vada ,so I had no issues with this too.Also I made some variations to suit my family's taste
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Now on to the recipe:
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Ingredients
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Bread slices(medium size) 3-4
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Salt 1/4 tsp
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Chat Masala powder 1/4 tsp
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Green chilly 2 slit
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Oil 1 tsp
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Split Black gram/Urad dal 1 tsp
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Dry red chilly 1
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Coriander leaves(finely chopped) 1/4 cup
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Method
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Trim the edges of the bread slices and keep aside.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-In a bowl add the yogurt,salt,sugar,water,cumin powder,chat masala powder.Mix well using a whisk.If you want you can add one finely chopped chilly or red chilly powder for more spice,but I didn't add.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Now take one bread slice and quickly dip both sides in the yogurt and place it on a serving plate.Next take another slice repeat the same way and place it on top of the previous bread.Now repeat it the same way with the other slices also.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Heat a frying pan.Add oil and when the oil turns hot add the mustard seeds,then the urad dal,green chillies,Curry leaves and the dried red chilly.When the urad dal turns golden brown pour this over the set yogurt-bread slices.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Garnish with the chopped coriander leaves and before serving you can cut it into halves and serve.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">We are having a heavy

there was this beetroot stir fry which
till that time I was not interested in making but having it from there now some

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Back to blogging after a short break,this time the break was not from my side but my Internet connection.After a strong thunder and lightning 3-4 weeks back the Internet connection was lost in many areas here which included ours too.So had to take a break forcefully.

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">But I am very happy I could make up today's challenge,yes the MFB Challenge which I thought I couldn't participate.This time its special because it marks the 2nd year of the MFB Challenge.So this time when the theme was given I was eagerly waiting to do the Arabic sweets that I had missed at the beginning of this year's Challenge,and also to my surprise I had only left that Challenge because my parents were here that time and I was busy with them.That also reminds me its going to be one year after my parents left Doha,specially my Dad who used to be here every six months.Suddenly he fell ill and they had to return back and my Hubby accompanied them.It was all of sudden everything happened that time,but Alhamdulillah now he's fine.

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">This time as for the theme we were free to choose any of the previous themes so I chose to do the one I missed.It was the Arabic Sweets and I prepared luqaimat,a crunchy sweet dumpling famous in the Middle Eastern Part.It is used both as a snack or a dessert item.It is mostly seen served during Ramadan.Now on to the recipe:
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Ingredients
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">All purpose flour/Maida 1 Cup
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Corn Flour 2 tbsp
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Yeast 3/4 tsp
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Sugar 1<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: medium;">1/2<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;"> tsp
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Salt a pinch
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Yoghurt 1 tbsp
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Warm Water 3/4 cup and a little more
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Oil to deep fry
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">For the Sugar syrup
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Sugar 1 Cup
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Water 3/4 cup
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Lime juice 1 tsp
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Method
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-In a deep bowl add Maida,Corn Flour,Yeast,sugar,Salt and Yoghurt.Using a whisk just mix it.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Now add the warm water little by little and mix well using the whisk.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-The batter should smooth without any lumps.It should neither be too thick nor runny.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Cover and keep this aside to raise for about 1/2 an hour to 1 hour.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Once it doubles in volume,just mix well again.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Now heat oil in a wok.When the oil turns hot(keep the flame on medium),pinch out little batter using your fingers and drop it using your thumb slowly into the oil,making small ball shapes.Repeat the same process with rest of the batter.But do not over crowd them.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Cook till it turns golden brown and crisp.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Mean while you can prepare the sugar syrup .In a sauce pan add sugar and water and let it boil.Once it turns sticky let it boil for 1 or 2 minutes then add the lime juice and switch off the flame.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-Fry the dumplings in batches and remove it using a slotted spoon on to a tissue paper.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">-After frying these, add these dumplings into the sugar syrup and coat it well on all sides and remove it from the syrup after 1-2 minutes and transfer into a serving plate.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: times, "times new roman", serif; font-size: large;">After a two months break here we are back with the MFB Challenge.And this time the theme was 'Back to school lunch box ideas'.Yes one question all moms face -what to pack for their kids box!.Even if ones child has been going to school for years daily this question arises hehe...
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">In India as the children reach only by evening time ,I have seen my sisters packing rice for them.They try different rice varieties and pack.Sometimes its the plain rice with a little curry and a fry an Egg omelette etc.Sometimes they have a theme as what to bring to school on such and such day as part of healthy eating like a vegetable day,Legumes day etc..I found that interesting but my sisters found that a headache.In the Middle East the children go to school so early that most of them don't even eat anything in the mornings.But they come home by afternoon and can have their lunch.So it's mostly breakfast items stuffed in their boxes.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Here my kids like having Sandwiches for their break time.I do make Idlis or Dosa and sometimes Poori and bhaji,but mostly it is sandwiches or Bakes they prefer.I try making sandwiches with different fillings.Today's recipe is a Chicken Mayonnaise Sandwich which my kids love to the core.Now to the recipe:
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Though Pasta making is considered easy but sometimes I feel its like making a Biryani.I know not all of you will agree with me.First boiling pasta,then sauteing the ingredients,then if there is an addition of any meat then frying that too..hehe. Maybe its when I think of preparing it in this form,which is usually prepared back home.But I would not say that for this tomato pasta.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">This was made in no time.If you have the already cooked pasta ready then its more easy but otherwise you can saute on one stove and simultaneously cook the pasta on the other.Here I have not used any veggies along with Onion and tomato but you can use 1/4 cup of Carrot or Capsicum.And I have used dried Basil leaves but you can either use fresh ones or Oregano.<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">That reminded me I have one more pasta recipe on blog a baked one loaded with Olives and cheese.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">After experimenting this stir fry with Channa Dal now I have tried a coconut curry with the rind and Red cow peas(Vanpayar).You can also check my Vanpayar Thoran,which I had posted sometime ago. Actually this gravy being thick goes well as a side dish with rice and a fish curry and also with chapatis.I have mentioned here how to clean and use the rind.Now on to the recipe:
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Today's recipe is a stir fry more likely you can call it as kootu curry as it has both a lentil and a veggie...a veggie ??Have I used a veggie or has the Watermelon turned veg hehe...It's actually the rind of the Watermelon used in the cooking.

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Few years back that is before I started my blog I would have never cooked the rind though I know it has so many health benefits,but never thought of cooking it.But thanks to blogging I have come to know more of so many new ingredients and cooking styles :)
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Here I have cooked the watermelon rind along with split Chickpeas(Chana Dal).Mentioning of Chana dal there are other recipes on my blog using Chana dal like the Chana dal Cake and this Ada ...Now on to this recipe

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Sometimes I ask myself what curry will I make for dinner,and if by chance my sound becomes a little clear for my children then their answer is loud and clear 'Chicken'.It is not at all a problem if they had Chicken the previous day or even that day afternoon.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Usually I make a simple Chicken curry in pressure cooker but after this recipe I go for this mostly instead of that regular gravy,because with the same ingredients if just a grinding can make a difference why not try that.Then when there is enough grated coconut in the freezer I change the chicken curry to this style along with Potatoes.Then there is this Pepper Chicken masala or this Chicken Kurma which I make rarely.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Few days back there was a little Yogurt left to finish before the expiry date.So while I planed to make a Chicken Coconut curry ,I changed the plan of adding Coconut milk and Yogurt ideas came into my mind.This curry doesn't have a very thick gravy but goes well with all types of Indian bread.Also when you want to try something different from the usual chicken curry this goes well.The addition of kasuri methi(dried fenugreek leaves) adds a special aroma to the curry.For this recipe use the thick Yogurt (Greek style) and not that sour type curd/yogurt.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Ingredients
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Chicken 1 kg(Cleaned and cut into curry size pieces)
