Vazha Koombu Chemmeen Thoran/Banana Flower-Prawns StirFry

I know my previous post was also a Thoran/Stir fry,but I wanted to post this one earlier but somehow I completely missed it.This thoran is made with the the banana blossom,it's called as the ''Heart of a Banana tree''.In Kerala mostly all the houses have a Banana tree.Even in my house back home there are a few Banana trees, the ones with those small Bananas mainly. The whole gardening credit goes to my Umma who has a real passion for it.But now a days she can't take much effort into this passion (health wise).

Mosambi/Sweet Lime Juice

Most of the time I feel every food has a story or some unforgettable reasons in ones life to love that particular dish or fruit or vegetable or even to dislike them.Sometimes the reasons may be very simple but it brings back some memories.I have already posted one previously on my blog here.

Paneer Butter Masala

Paneer is something which my children eat without a fuss Alhamdulillah. So I try out different  recipes with it.Sometimes I feel making side dishes with Paneer is far easier than with other non-veg or vegetarian sides. Both dry and the gravy type recipes made with this cottage cheese is loved by all.

Mango Salsa

When the 'King of fruits' -Mangoes are in season ..its like Mangoes every where and in every thing.I have already posted a Mango Lassi and a Mango Cake Roll long time back.
This time I was lucky enough to get both the raw and ripe ones from India grown from Umma's garden. My hubby when returning from India after a two weeks trip and also my Dad came here for a two weeks stay, both of them came with loads of Mangoes.Umma was also very happy she could sent them because such things could not be sent with other relatives due to the weight. And getting something from our own garden is totally different from what we purchase(now a days mainly health wise). However, my little boy just don't like eating this fruit...his selecting and eating habits sometimes make me go crazy hehe....

Gothambu SharkkaraChoru /Wheat Kheer(Payasam)

After a few posts on side dishes ,today here I am with a sweet dish,Wheat Payasam. But unlike other Payasam /Kheer there is no adding of ghee-fried cashews or raisins...On whole, there is no use of ghee in this recipe.Long back I had posted another filling dish with wheat popularly known as Aleesa in our part of North Malabar which became one of my hit posts. Now this is also a filling dish by itself specially for kids.

Fish Biriyani/Meen Biriyani

Biriyani is something  we cook on all Fridays or Party get together and sometimes cook in bulk (lazy me!)to take it the next day. This Fish biriyani (with some other dishes) has been in my drafts from long.Somethings stay in drafts for such a long time then I start to get a feeling whether to post it or not and if  it is a 'no' then it won't be on my blog forever. So thought of finishing off things from drafts.
