Drumsticks 3-4 sticks cut into 11/2 ''pieces
Split moong dal/yellow lentils 1/2 cup
Water 31/2 cup
Onion 1 finely chopped
Tomato 1 '' ''
Chilli powder 11/2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Green chillies 2 split
Cumin powder 1/4 tsp
Thick coconut milk 1 cup
Salt to taste
Oil 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
Dry chilli 1
Curry leaves 1 sprig
Preparation
-Cook dal with 31/2 cups of water.
-When it starts boiling add the chopped onion,tomatoes,green chillies,chilly-turmeric and cumin powder.
-When the dal is half done add the drumstick pieces and salt.
-Cook till the drumsticks are done (when it becomes tender).
-Now add the coconut milk and let it boil for a minute.Switch off the flame.
-Heat oil in a small frying pan and add the mustard seeds.When it splutters add the dried chilly and the curry leaves.Pour this over the curry and cover it with a lid.Mix well before serving.

Drumstick is one vegetable I miss very badly.. we don't get them in Brazil.. It makes sambar so flavourful.
