Kiwi Lemonade

While browsing through my posts I saw that I haven't posted any recipes with Kiwi fruit, that is,any juices with this;because this is one fruit with some others that we buy when ever available in the markets. But recently we have given it a break, because once when brought it was a little raw and my children started complaining one's tongue was itching and the other ones lips were itching etc..and I and my Hubby had to finish the rest.

Pomegranate Milkshake

Milkshakes are always yummy and filling specially if you are not filled with your breakfast properly by 11 am you crave for something badly, and for me ,I start searching for my ingredients which I can fix quickly. So in such a search I found an Anar/Pomegranate which had a sour taste and was kept just like that from a few days.Quickly I prepared this shake and was thinking why didn't that idea strike me earlier,no problem everything has its own time.Better now than getting them rotten.

Persimmon MilkShake

Winter is the season for Persimmons (one of our favorite fruits)and we never miss the chance to get them.Do you know there are two varieties of Persimmon?Actually I came to know about these only recently.I used to eat these fruits when I was very young itself. Not able to pronouns the fruit name well me and my sisters used to call this as 'the tomato type fruit'.When young we used to get the 'Hachiya' type. Now also we get only this type from our nearby veg.shop.This variety can be eaten only when they are liquid ripe that is;when it is real soft and gooey inside(you can see the pulp on top of my milkshake).

There was a time when our house in India was surrounded with Papaya trees, that too large ones.It was many years back, one papaya cut was more than enough for the whole family,so the remaining papayas were given to our neighbours and relatives. But every house had one or two trees.

Grapes Juice Along With Its Pulp

This Grape juice tastes real yummy chewing those pulp in between the drink. These are the Indian black Grapes that when pressed or squeezed the outer part (the skin),the pulp pops out.Only few of its pulp have a sweet taste, the others have a tangy taste.Normally the outer part of this grapes is not eaten due to its sour taste. But it tastes best and yummy when prepared juice with it. Now on to the recipe...

Method
-In a bowl(use a large one) add the grapes and mash
them (Use a potato masher or simply with your hand).
-Now separate the seeds and skin from the pulp(you can transfer the mashed grapes onto a flat plate, this  makes it easier for separating the pulp)
-Refrigerate the pulp.
-Now in a saucepan boil 2 cups of water along with  the separated portion (seeds and outer portion - excluding the pulp).
-Let it boil* for 5 to 7 minutes, then off the flame. Allow it to cool.
-When cooled strain the juice from this mixture using a juice strainer.
-Add sugar to the strained juice, mix well till the sugar dissolves completely.
-Now add 4 cups of cold water and the leftover(strained)mixture into a blender and pulse it (just 2-3 times) and strain this mix through the juice strainer into the previous juice.
-Mix well adding the refrigerated pulp and serve.
*While boiling, the mixture might spill so(stay there itself) and adjust the flame accordingly.
*If you like the juice chilled refrigerate it (after the whole process) and serve after sometime.
