A bowl of rice, any curry and this dry prawns/unakka chemeen chammanti is sometimes all what is needed for lunch. But in the family there are both types of people, one who just loves dry prawns and the rest who just hates it.
Its my hubby who doesn't like dry prawns and so do my children, not only dry prawns even dried fishes etc.Actually his whole family just don't like these types of side dishes.Even I don't like the dried fish, but love the dried prawns/unakka chemeen in different forms.Usually I have this when I am back home in India,as my Dad loves this so whenever these are available my Umma prepares this.We don't need fish curry or fry when this is there, a simple dal curry is more than enough.A simple and easy to prepare chammanthi
