Hummus/Chickpea Dip - Middle Eastern Dip

Days are just flying off. It's just like yesterday the school was closed after the Annual exams for two weeks and now, tomorrow it's re opening. As the climate was moderate children enjoyed playing outdoor games to the maximum. In India, my sister told me the summer vacation has started and it's time of the year when people  start Visiting Gulf or other countries. Here in Qatar now a days as the Visa is free we get to see so many families including elderly parents in Malls, parks etc. It's a lovely sight seeing them laughing and playing with their grand children :)

Today's recipe is a very simple, easy to make dip or spread famous in the Middle Eastern Cuisine around the globe.Mostly the weekend here, for almost every one is something eating out or it can be indoor with BBQ along with Pita,Garlic sauce and Hummus. And today I am sharing here homemade Hummus. After all, home made is always the best and if it is too easy to put in together then,Wow!
I don't add much flavors to my Hummus but love eating it with pickled Jalapenos as side. You can mix in anything you prefer like Cumin seeds powder,Paprika powder and de seeded Olives or Cooked whole Chick peas-in between to bite etc.I soak my Chickpeas overnight and then cook and then proceed but you can use canned peas also to make it easier. The best thing I love of this dip is it requires very little ingredients and can be made in a jiffy once you have your cooked Chickpeas.

Ingredients
Chick peas(dry)   11/2 cup (washed and soaked overnight)
Tahini paste  2-3 tbsp
Greek Yoghurt  1 tbsp
Garlic pods 2
Olive oil  3-4 tbsp
Lime juice  1 tsp
Salt  as needed
Method Of Cooking
-Pressure cook the chickpeas with salt for 4 -5 whistles or till the peas turn very soft.Allow it to cool.Reserve the water.
-Now in a blender add the cooked peas ,1/4 cup of reserved water, garlic and blend. In between add tahini paste, yoghurt and 2 tbsp of olive oil and blend well till you get a smooth consistency. You can adjust the consistency with the reserved water.
-Transfer this into a bowl and the lime juice and mix well.Add the remaining olive oil on top and serve.
