Mambazha Pulissery / Mango Pulissery

There are 2-3 Mango trees back home but a particular tree yields a lot of Mangoes.Umma says it has given a lot of raw mangoes for curries and pickles and also delicious ripe mangoes.Whenever there is plenty she gives it to our neighbours and relatives, that is every one gets these mangoes to taste every year but hardly I get to taste them.It is really hard to send it through someone because of the weight problems, and only very close relatives might take the trouble, also my Dad doesn't like troubling others with such loads. But as he comes during those six months gap (which now has turned to one year) Ummi sends whatever she could get which would be mostly raw. It's not that we don't get Mangoes here, actually we get a lot of varieties from different countries along with Indian Mangoes but something from our own garden means it elevates the love and taste somehow :)

I have already mentioned my umma's love for plants in some of my previous posts. This particular tree I mentioned was grown from one of the seeds thrown away during a function at our home long back(after making Mango juice for the guests)-just a few months after we started staying in our new house back home.We had already purchased new mango saplings from nurseries and had planted those, which was guaranteed to grow within two years time and to bear loads of Mangoes but nothing happened as such ,it took more than 2-3 years to grow with very little fruits and that too in alternative years. But this tree grew strong and high within 3 years and from then on each Mango season we are always getting Mangoes till date Alhamdulillah ...I am mentioning it here because at the growing stage of this plant someone or the other would just pull it out with it's roots saying,''Ooh this won't grow,it will take years ,it won't bear much fruits"etc..
